Use this Lightroom tool to edit your photos!

I love editing photos, making things pop out, attracting the viewers eye to a certain part of the photo and making that image the best it can be. I wouldn’t say I drastically edit photos, I’m not really into heavy photoshop stuff, I just like to enhance photos really. Thats not to say if i want to remove maybe a person or something that shouldn’t be in the shot, I won’t, because I do do that sometimes. But not with permanent fixtures of a photo If that makes sense. I use it to remove little distractions that take away from the shot.

I prefer to subtly enhance photos rather than heavily edit them, making them into the best versions of them that they can be. It usually doesn’t take much either, I find if im thinking too much about the edit and what im trying to achieve with it, its not a great photograph.

There is one tool though, inside Lightroom, that will massively help to give your photo that polished look. You can use it to focus attention on a certain part of the image and also to add more depth and make the image look more dynamic. That is the masking tools. By far my favourite tool in Lightroom.

I made a video about how I edit and use the masking tools to get the look I desire for my photos.

I like to keep my edits simple, I feel like I have a very minimalist taste in photography so my edits need to match that.

Hopefully this helps give you some ideas on how to edit your photos.
